Was CT Russell a freemason or not
by UnshackleTheChains inok. many people deny ct russell was a freemason.
i have read articles whereby some have found no evidence to prove he was one at any point in his life.. however, given all the masonic symbols in the early publications including the use of the name jehovah ( the name the freemason's use to identify god), as well as the expressions used such as 'new world, new order' etc certainly raises suspicions.. then there is the article he wrote in the herald magazine outlining that he was a freemason (see the following video 40 seconds in).
it really does make you think!.

UnshackleTheChains said, "It really does make you think!"
NO, it does not.
If I draw a six-pointed star, does that make me a Jew?
If I write an uppercase "T", does that make me a Christian?
NO!
The symbols of secret societies ARE NOT SECRET! ANYONE can appropriate them for ANY purpose, and
Pastor Russell did just as the Apostle Paul did when he spoke extemporaneously on Mars Hill, announcing that he was there to preach "the unknown god" to whom an altar was erected!
Was that altar erected for Yahweh? Hay-sus? NO!
Likewise when CTR said he was a Mason; he was using hyperbole, or exaggerating, or LYING in order, he thought, to SAVE his audience.
"That is not dead which can eternal lie,
and in STRANGE eons, even death may die"

Governing Body trying to control marital relationships
by Whynot in4 years ago during the circuit overseers visit he asked a rather innapropriate question from the platform.
i say it's innapropriate because i think it's wrong to tell happy married couples how to love each other and much more wrong it is to tell them they should love their children less.. he said: "mothers, who should you love more your children or your husband?
" i think most mothers will quickly say you should love your children more.

So, is it true that Circuit Overseers will be asking for a show of hands in response to the interrogatory, "WHO HERE LIKES DICK?"
Richard didn't know he had so many buddies!

New kingdom hall Washington State
by Are you serious inyesterday i drove passed a town a couple of hours from my home and saw this kh under construction.
this is the first new design kh i've seen in washington state even though i would think by now another one or two have been built.
maybe not with their financial situation being the way it is.

Is it fireproof? I'm asking for a friend.
The WTB&TS has now wised up to the idea that Kingdom Halls should be designed so that they can easily be converted to fast-food restaurants when the congregation goes "out of business."
Speaking of which, there is NO TRUTH to the rumor that the newest Theocratic song is titled "Would you like fries with that in the everlasting paradise earth of the universal sovereign and his glorious Son and his pansexual wife?"
I just felt a thrill go down my leg -- oh, wait, that was my ferret, whose name, by the way, is "A Thrill".
Be good, ye servants of Sky-Daddy Jah!

Why didn't I leave back then???
by silentbuddha insunday my old bethel roommate came up to visit me.
he left a couple years ago and he wanted to catch up and reminisce.. while we sat back remembering crazy things we saw take place at bethel he reminded me of a creepy instance with bro.
swingell.. it was a saturday morning and we decided to actually go get breakfast.

Your avatar is "silentbuddha"...
Surely you've heard the old adage, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
It is no detriment to you, but the answer to your question in the opening post is, "you weren't ready yet."
BY THE WAY...
There are those who like to lay guilt trips on others for the way thet behaved in the dim, distant past.
Which reminds me of another old adage: "If you meet OrphanCrow on the road, kill him."
Over and out.

Favourite Quirky / Low Budget / Non-Mainstream Movies
by Simon inso the recent topic about film franchises got me thinking.
sure, we all love the big budget, mainstream releases that are so successful they spawn never-ending (it sometimes seems) sequels.
we could watch marvel and star-wars movies for the rest of our lives (and we might just ...).. but y'know what i love?

Up here on the UADNA Orbiting Space Platform (built using tips from the Pentateuch) I have Amazon Prime and a smart 256-inch TV and I found some titles that I think are worth sharing - they were FREE.
We'll start with a short: "One Minute Time Machine" (2015) running time 5 minutes. It is a comedy, and it is excellent!
Then check out "B4" (2016) running time 50 minutes. Folded space/time in a parking garage.
Lastly, "Black Web" (2013) running time 88 minutes; about a guy in the very (VERY) early days of The Internet who discovers his own obituary.

Simon, I want to thank you for your recommendation of TIME LAPSE. Good pick!
Like you, I and the other crew members aboard the UADNA Orbiting Space Platform are fans of time machine and time travel stories. In fact, if it wasn't for the secrets of time revealed in the first five books of the Codex Sinaiticus, the UADNA Orbiting Space Platform couldn't have been built; Space-X tech will only take one so far.
I'd like to get my furry paws on a copy of "RESET" - the time-travel film made up there in Alberta just a couple of years ago; I've emailed the production team to see if I can buy a US-compatible DVD or Blu-Ray. i hope hey come through, but it seems that right now they are mostly interested in showing screenings at film festivals.
I'm thinking I *might* have seen "PRIMER" a couple of years ago... or maybe a couple of years from now???
